PTSD
What is Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)?
PTSD is a mental health disorder that develops after experiencing a traumatic event, such as a serious threat of injury, sexual assault, or death. It can affect anyone, regardless of age. PTSD results from chemical and neuronal changes in the brain following exposure to trauma. Having PTSD does not mean you are flawed or weak.
Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for effective treatment and to reduce long-term effects associated with PTSD.
